Founder/owner Marie McClellan discovered yoga after a back accident in the late 1990's. She found yoga extremily challenging but noticed how strong it made her, with low impact. After years of dabbling in yoga she decided to deepen her practice by taking a 200hr training with Katie O'Connell. This ignited her desire to learn even more and continue her training at Dragonfly Yoga Barn. It was with this advanced training that she realised how important it was to prepare expecting moms through yoga. Marie is 500YTT and prenatal certified through Yoga Alliance having trained under Deb Flashingburg of PYC of NYC. Marie encourages a preventative lifestyle through movement, meditation and whole eating. As a advanced student you know you can ramp up a gentle yoga, hatha, vinyana flow to challege yourself. Specializing in prenatal yoga from thirteen weeks on. Private sessions are available. Marie wants to help local families;through Bread and Broth, with homemaking skills. Cooking lessons and assistance with basic household finance education.

Being “mom” and “Grammie” are Marie’s favorite titles.

Yoga Basics; A six week series to teach you the basic yoga postures and correct alignment so you can be confident to attend a yoga class at any studio or start a home practice. Group sizes are kept small for maximum attention to all students.

Yin is a style of yoga, it is perfect when you wake up stiff and you say “man I need to stretch.” Yin poses are held longer than in a yoga flow class. The purpose is to give the nervous system a chance to tell the muscles to chill and let ligaments and tendons have a chance to lengthen. You get the deepest stretch. Yin is done when the muscles are cool so to not over lengthen and injure yourself.

Agnihouse flow/gentle

A fusion of styles, Yin at the beginning of class followed by a short led meditation. Moving to a warmup and then a stronger vinyasa flow. Ending with some balancing and core strengthening. A perfect blend of all you need in one class, leaving you feeling relaxed and strong. It can be ramped up for someone with a regular practice or enjoyed slower for a new student.

Gentle yoga will incorporate gentle warm up, breathwork, flowing into vinyasa flow, abdominal work, balancing.

Prenatal Yoga: Specially designed for the expecting. Prepare for a functional birth. Empowerment through education; to be able to make choices that are right for you and your family pertaining to your childbirth. Learn a variety of coping skills for labor and beyond.
